Mass-Born Sports Commentator Wins 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' On Buzzer Beater Question

Sports commentator Katie Nolan took Wednesday night's episode of "Celebrity Jeopardy!" down to the wire when she tied with "Law & Order: SVU" alum Christopher Meloni and had to finish the game with a rare tiebreaker question.

Nolan, a former ESPN broadcaster and podcaster who now hosts "Friday Night Baseball Apple TV+, is a Framingham native. She and Meloni faced off against Sherri Shepherd, a daytime TV talk show host who formerly was a panelist on "The View."

Nolan went into Final Jeopardy with a sizeable lead and correctly answered Sam Houston's battle cry of "Remember the Alamo" during his attack on Mexican forces. But so did Meloni.

And while her history knowledge was second to none on the episode, her math skills left something to be desired. She needed to wager $3,501 to keep her score out of Meloni's reach and clinch a victory.

She wagered $3,500, creating a tie and forcing a one-off tiebreaker question.

Thankfully for Nolan, the topic returned to history.

“Drink up! A famous New Orleans street is named after this dynasty that ruled France for most of the 17th & 18th centuries," host Ken Jennings read.

Nolan was the first to buzz in and correctly answered "Bourbon."

She advances to the semifinals and has another chance to raise more money for the charity she chose to support: the Association for Women in Sports Media.

She'll face Utkarsh Ambudkar and Lisa Ann Walter in the next round.
